Wild Food in the UK Ltd
Warlingham Summer Foraging Course
This course is a simple foraging walk where we will identify a number of edible and poisonous wild mushrooms, fruits and plants.
The woods near Croydon are plentiful in wild food; in fact we think they are some of the best woods we have ever been foraging in. There are a huge variety of edible plants in the south east most of which can be found around the area.
We will meet at the Harrow Inn at 12pm in Farleigh Common. The course starts there with a 20 minute introduction on how to forage safely and sustainably, and a brief of the general countryside codes where they relate to foragers.
Then we’ll set off for a roughly 2.5 hour walk around the area identifying the different edible and poisonous plants, fruits and mushrooms that we come across. We then discuss and taste our finds over a light lunch.
Ideal for both the total novice and the intermediate forager looking to improve their knowledge, it is also an ideal family outing!
