Illustrated by the paintings of the period, the course will focus on the Tudor dynasty from Henry VII to Elizabeth I. It will consider the social, political and religious matters that marked each of the five Tudor monarch's reigns and will show how art has contributed to our understanding of key events – including the church, trade and so on. Finally, it will assess the 'Glorious Age' of Elizabeth 1 which brought Tudor history to an end. Course fee £51.60
