A biting new comedy about the financial perils of a capitalist world receives its European premiere in Clapham at the Omnibus Theatre from 31st October to 19th November. Written by acclaimed playwright Kieran Lynn.
Welcome to Debt Duck, the UK’s premier payday loans company
Tom and Clem are deep in debt.
Alan, Tom’s boss, owes big bucks.
Meryl, Alan’s manager, is mortgaged to the hilt.
They each decide to crack the company safe and put an end to their financial woes.
But will they break the cycle of debt?
Or is this just another terrible trap?
Set in a payday lending company Debt Duck, The Trap is a sharp-witted and topical comedy featuring a motley crew of flawed characters. The play presents some serious truths, while also serving up a good dose of humour.
The Trap, was staged first in the US in April this year and follows on from Lynn’s previous comedy An Incident at the Border which successfully transferred to the West End.
