Proteus loves Julia and Valentine loves Sylvia…but when Proteus also falls in love with Sylvia, it all begins to go horribly wrong. Foreshadowing plays such as Romeo and Juliet, The Merchant of Venice, A Midsummer Night's Dream and As You Like It, Shakespeare's FIRST play combines rebellious children, banishment, betrayal, girls disguised as boys, the politest band of outlaws you could find and a even scene-stealing dog.
Staged in the beautiful gardens of the University of Law, this joyous romantic comedy will have aglamorous 1950s Italian setting, including live music, singing, and a real dog! Director Charlotte Conquest returns to GSC following her previous triumphs with Grimms’ Fairy Tales, The Comedy of Errors and The Taming of the Shrew.
The Bar and Box Office will be open 45 mins before the start time for you to collect tickets and to purchase refreshments. The venue will open for picnicking at 6.15pm for evening performances and 1.15pm for matinees.
