Production dates: 26-30th June and 3-6th July 2019
We are delighted to be showcasing this original production compiled by our MD Charlie Swift. ‘Spectacular’ is a joyous celebration of music and theatre performed by a brilliant cast of familiar faces and some exciting new talent accompanied by a live seven-piece band. We will take you on a musical journey through the decades with songs from movies and musicals such as Back To The Future, Pretty Woman and Chicago mixed with classics from Andy Williams, Frank Sinatra, Elvis and Aretha Franklin and with pure pop with songs from Beyonce and Queen.
‘Spectacular’ is a joyful explosion of musical theatre, dance and amazing visuals and is one of our most exciting productions ever! This is a fantastic show suitable for all the family. Come and sing the night away with music from the legends who shook a generation!
OUR VERDICT
When it comes to an evening’s entertainment Surrey is blessed with hidden gems. One we stumbled on the other night was the Barn Theatre Club tucked behind West Molesey Hight Street. This little amateur theatre doesn’t seat too many people and on a very hot night under the theatre lights and corrugated roof temperatures sore. But it’s not just the weather that raises the heat here - it is the class musical performance that gets the audience jumping out of their seats.
Spectacular is an original showcase of songs and tunes through the decades compiled by the Barn’s musical director Charlie Swift that can only be described as spectacular! Everything from movies and musicals to the class acts that we grew up with including Elvis, Sinatra, Andy Williams, Aretha Franklin, Beyonce and Queen is performed by a group of more than 20 very talented musicians, dancers and singers.
They are performing again this Thursday (July 4th) Friday (July 5th) and Saturday (July 6th) - but sadly all sold out except a few tickets left on Thursday. The Barn Theatre Club is a members club which means you need to pay an annual membership (£15 single or £20 family) before you can buy tickets - but with its own licensed bar, it is a nice little club to belong to.
