From 25 April - 20 May, the gallery will be showing a selection of wood engravings, as part of the Society of Wood Engravers 77th annual exhibition. Each year, the society visits around 8 venues, bringing along a variety of work from both British and international artists, with Kevis House selected as one of the venues for the 2015 tour.
The Society exists to promote wood engraving, and has built up an international reputation for excellence. It is the principal organisation and rallying point for those interested in the subject, and contains around seventy members, consisting of both practising artists, and those who have been invited to membership on merit. The Society's role is an important one because it is devoted to creating contacts between wood engravers and those interested in their work, in Britain and around the world, and to sustaining this unique artform.
There will be over 130 works on display, with prices ranging from £45 - £550.
