One of the many gardens open in Shere on 24th June
On Sunday 24th June, Shere, one of the most picturesque villages in Surrey, nestling at the foot of the North Downs between Guildford and Dorking, will be opening its garden gates for the 40th year and inviting the public to view a selection of about 30 beautiful private gardens in full bloom.
There will be a plant sale, an over-the-wall gardeners' question time at the allotments, the cricket club runs a Pimms Stall while the mums from Shere School serve home-made teas in the village hall.
The funds raised by the event are split between about 15 local causes
