Through the Wall
Rama Burshtein’s follow-up to the highly successful Fill the Void which won several Israeli Academy Awards, Through the Wall takes romantic comedy into the Hasidic community.
Michal has a simple belief that G-d is good and sweet, that He wants to give her what she wants most, and is only waiting for her to make her wish.
The film takes a comic look at the question of finding a groom for Michal, a desperate 32 year old, who became ultra- orthodox 12 years ago, and her unshakeable faith that G-d will will provide her with the right man within the month, even though her fiancé has called off their planned wedding. After all, she has booked the venue and the service, and bought the dress.
