Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes to make some of England’s greatest gardens look so beautiful? Come and find out at a special “Royal Gardening Experience” day at Hampton Court Palace on Thursday 19th or Friday 20th September.
The day starts at 10am and includes a guided tour of the gardens, followed by a unique opportunity to get your hands dirty and work in the gardens with the team. This is an outdoor session so you need to wear appropriate clothing and footwear, and bring a drink and lunch. After that you’ll have access to the palace at your leisure.
Tickets are just £15 for the day (adults only) and can be purchased at Squire’s Garden Centres or online at www.squiresgardencentres.co.uk.
10.00am: Arrive at Hampton Court Palace & meet members of their Estates Team.
Hampton Court Palace, East Mosley, KT8 9AU (transport not included).
10.15am: Guided tour of the gardens. Thursday - The Rose, East Front Fountain, The Privy & Pond gardens. Friday - The Nursery and Great Vine House.
11.15am: Planting and preparation. A unique opportunity to get your hands dirty and help the team carry out seasonal tasks within the gardens.Thursday – Work in the East Front Fountain and The Privy gardens. Friday – Work in the Royal Kitchen garden.
12.30pm: Break for lunch (lunch not included in the ticket price).
1.00pm: Explore the gardens and palace after lunch at your leisure. Palace closes at 5pm.
