Following a successful year celebrating its Golden Jubilee, Thames Philharmonic Choir returns again to Kingston on Saturday 12 March with a performance of Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle. This 'Little Solemn Mass' is the best known of Rossini's sacred works. Its music is rich, varied and attractive, with a series of characteristic solos as well as several large-scale choruses. Accompaniment is provided by two pianos and a harmonium.
Thames Philharmonic Choir, founded in 1964, is well-known for high musical standards and for the pleasure it gives to performers and audiences alike. Based in south-west London, it performs locally, in central London and elsewhere in England and Europe.
