ROBIN HOOD is staged in Guildford’s best-kept secret, RACKS CLOSE. A former chalk quarry, now beautifully overgrown into an idyllic natural amphitheatre, Racks Close sits in the heart of the town centre. GSC return to the venue following last summer’s runaway success of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, “Infectious humour and feel-good optimism – 4 STARS” The Stage. Rope bridges and tree houses, together with the venue’s winding paths and grass banks promise the perfect setting for this immersive, promenade experience. From £16.50 to £25 Evenings 7.30pm (6.30pm on 19 June)Sat Matinees 2.30pm (16 & 23 June)
In June England’s most enduring legend ROBIN HOOD will take centre stage in a brand new stage version by GSC’s Associate Playwright ANT STONES (Grimms’ Fairy Tales, The Wind in the Willows). Whilst including all the classic characters – Little John, Marian, Scarlett, Friar Tuck and of course the Sheriff of Nottingham – this new play also reaches back into the original folk stories of everyone’s favourite outlaw, for a family adventure not to be missed.
