A tender love story between two young women in Nairobi and the pressures they face from their families and society at large. Initially banned by the country’s film classification board (homosexuality is illegal in Kenya), the film became a cinematic cause célèbre in Kenya and internationally and went on to win multiple awards.
Members go free. Non-member tickets are £5 (full-time students £3). Tickets can be purchased in advance from The Exchange’s Box Office (subject to a cap of 70) - in person, by telephone on 020 8240 2399) or online at http://exchangetwickenham.co.uk/events/ . To ensure that you secure a ticket, pre-booking via The Exchange is recommended. A further 40 or 50 or so tickets will be available to purchase on the door on the night of the screening (cash only) on a ‘first-come-first-served’ basis.
