Richmond Film Society’s Season first screening at The Exchange in Twickenham is ‘Paterson’, a gentle drama directed by Jim Jarmusch.
Paterson is a bus driver-cum-poet named after the New Jersey town in which he lives and works. Thinking while he drives, he writes snatches of verse on his lunch break, taking inspiration from his passengers’ conversations, before going home to his wife Laura.
The film will be introduced by Dr. Jon Hackett, Senior Lecturer in Film and Screen Media at St Mary's University.
Half-season memberships for the remaining eight films of the season – commencing with ‘Paterson’ on 16 January – are now available for £35, i.e. for less than £4.40 per film (full-time students £20). Non-member tickets are £6 (£4 full-time students) and they can be purchased on the night (as now), from The Exchange’s Box Office or online via The Exchange’s website.
