We are delighted that Alan Connor is our special guest. Alan is currently the question editor for BBC Four's lateral thinking quiz Only Connect has worked as a writer for programmes including Charlie Brooker's Weekly Wipe, The Jonathan Ross Show and This Week and writes journalism for BBC News and The Guardian.
"My way of writing involves a lot of walking around Richmond and Kingston. It's an inspiring part of the world and I am very proud to be part of a cause that treasures it."
We will also be running a raffle, fun inter-round games and there will be a bar. All proceeds from this event will support local environmental projects (see next page).
"A great evening to test the grey matter!" (Doug, Richmond Yacht Club).
Heena's Kitchen Curry will be serving a delicious selection of curries including a vegetarian option and all the trappings: samosas, chicken curry, chickpea curry, vegetable curry, rice, raita, chappatis and chutneys. Heena uses the freshest possible ingredients with the least amount of oil to give you that fresh clean flavoursome taste to tantalise your taste buds.
Our venue is the beautiful and historic All Saints Church built in the twelfth century, in the centre of Kingston.

Who are we and why are we putting on this event?
The Environment Trust is an established conservation charity in SW London and one of our patrons is Sir David Attenborough. We aim to inspire love of local places by creating sensational events and amazing projects, so that together we can champion the ‘yesterday, today and tomorrow’ of our local area.
Part of our fundraising strategy is to put on a variety of events throughout the year that will raise money for the Trust and engage local people to ‘awaken their curiosity in unexpected ways’. This is one of them.
All monies raised at the Quiz night will go to the Environment Trust, supporting the development of local projects that may include:
- a Nature and Heritage Centre near Tolworth, which will be a focal point for action and learning about the environment; also
- Kingston Green Corridor, a wildlife conservation project focussing on neglected sites along Kingston’s rivers and streams, which will use the latest technology to help people and nature reconnect.
