Local restaurateur Sam Harrison is rustling up something very special this summer… after months of being cooped up indoors, Sam is transporting his much-loved Hammersmith restaurant, Sam’s Riverside, to the great outdoors, with four pop-up al fresco dinners at the beautiful Phoenix Farm in White City.
Tables will be nestled amongst the vegetable patches and decorated with candles and freshly cut flowers, whilst head chef Ashley Tinoco has created a special five-course menu, designed to showcase the farm’s best seasonal produce, such as courgettes, peas, beans, elderflower and horseradish, and berries.
Delectable dishes include the likes of cured Cornish halibut, green strawberries, pickled kohlrabi and lemon verbena dressing, and a fresh, summery amuse-bouche of grilled melon, chilli salt and minted yoghurt.
Located just a short distance from Sam’s usual Hammersmith hangout, this picturesque urban farm is part of the Hammersmith Community Garden Association (HCGA), which provides a learning resource for local schools and community groups as well as volunteering opportunities for local residents.
Home to over 40 varieties of fruit, vegetables, and herbs, Phoenix Farm supplies much of the produce used at Sam’s Riverside and sold at his neighbouring shop-deli, Sam’s Larder.
Kicking off at 7 pm, tickets cost £85pp, which includes a £25 donation to HCGA and a glass of Gusbourne English Sparkling Brut on arrival. As well as a small drinks list, five paired wines will be available for a £27.50 supplement, and vegan/vegetarian menus can be provided upon request.
Sounds like the perfect summer evening…
