Forty years after she first appeared on TV's Opportunity Knocks, Pam Ayres brings her latest show to the Epsom Playhouse pm Monday 5 October. Following the recent paperback release of her latest book of poetry ‘You Made Me Late Again’! Pam Ayres' work is funny and approachable.
Pam Ayres is the “People’s Poet”, and much of the current popularity of today’s performance poetry is due to this funny, clever, and perceptive lady. She has been an audience favourite for over 35 years for her observations on the comic details of everyday life.
Pam’s poetry sounds simple, as though dashed off, but her hair-trigger timing, her eye for the detail of life, and for the absurdity therein, makes for an art that hides art. Her books have been bestsellers for 40 years and Pam is still a regular on Radio and TV, on programmes such as 'Just A Minute',' Loose Ends', and six series of 'Ayres on The Air' for Radio 4.
Tickets are on sale now for £23.00 and can be booked at: www.epsomplayhouse.co.uk or by ringing the Box Office on 01372 742555/742227.
