Dorney lake Dorney Lake, Eton College Rowing Centre, off Court Lane, Dorney, Windsor, Berkshire, SL4 6QP
Having retired from elite sport in 2013, Paralympian Sophia Warner wanted to make sport more readily accessible to the disabled and so she created the Superhero Series; choosing Dorney lake as the venue for the UK’s first disability sport series. The three stages are designed to let competitors do as much or as little as they’d like and superheroes can choose to take the stages as part of a team, or with help from a sidekick. There will also be plenty of the UK’s past and present Paralympians in attendance, including double gold medallist Jonny Peacock (pictured), and octuple gold medallist – and local girl – Sophie Christiansen.
August 19.
