Northern Lights - Modern Scandinavian and Russian Film
This course will cover an in-depth look at examples of critically-acclaimed Scandinavian and Russian cinema from the last ten years. Each session will focus on films such as Andrey Zvyagintsev’s intensely acted Leviathan, Thomas Vinterberg’s black comedy drama Druk (Another Round), Susanne Bier’s dramatic Efter brylluppet (After the Wedding), and the warm and humorous Compartment No 6 by Juho Kuosmanen, set on a rail journey to Murmansk.
