Moor House care home in Staines, run by charity Friends of the Elderly, is hosting a summer fete for residents, their family and friends and the local community on Sunday 6 August.
The fete will take place in the grounds of the care home from 2:30pm until 5:30pm. Entry is free and everyone from the local community is welcome, including families with children.
There will be plenty of activities on offer including hoopla, a raffle and tombola, as well as live music from River City Saxes. There will also be a plant sale for those with green fingers and refreshments including a Pimms bar and BBQ.
Proceeds from the event will go towards a new minibus for the care home, which will be used to take residents and people from the wider Staines community on day trips to enjoy activities outside of the home.
Moor House resident, Barbara says: ‘It would be lovely to be able to go on outings at short notice. We could make the most of sunny days with trips to the park, down by the river or a drink in the garden of a local pub.’
Lyn Spivack, Manager of Moor House, added: “We are really looking forward to welcoming the local community to our summer fete. It’s always wonderful to open our doors for a fun family day and we also hope to raise some much needed funds towards our mini bus appeal.”
