Gardening Know How
Millennium seed bank.
In the heart of rural Sussex lies a treasure trove of scientific excellence.
The Millennium Seed Bank hides an underground collection of over 2.4 billion seeds from around the world. Collected by a global partnership and stored in sub-zero chambers in flood, bomb and radiation-proof vaults.
With two in five plant species at risk of extinction, the bank can protect plant life to reintroduce back into the wild or for scientific research in finding our future food and medicines.
Keith will tell us more about the work of the seed bank and its plans for the future.
