28 JUL 2021
Nine-year-old Pippi is strong, brave and fearless. When she comes to live in her new home with her monkey and horse but with no parents and no rules, she brings mischief, chaos and confusion to the folk of this ordinary and traditional town. Pippi takes charge of her own crazy adventures, with her two new friends, Tommy and Annika. What else would you expect from the daughter of a swashbuckling pirate captain?
In celebration of the 75th birthday of Astrid Lindgren’s much-loved Pippi Longstocking, acclaimed storyteller Danyah Miller (I Believe in Unicorns, Why the Whales Came, Perfectly Imperfect Women) and award-winning director Helena Middleton (Education, Education, Education, Star Seekers, Pippi Longstocking - The Musical Adventure) have created a playful and quirky one-woman storytelling performance with audience participation to introduce children to 'the strongest girl in the world'. Find out how the self-sufficient, quick-witted and generous Pippi has inspired fans the world over, including Lauren Child, Michelle Obama, Lady Gaga and Cerys Matthews, to name just a few!
