Little White Lies
Jean-Luc Godard
What makes a great film great? As the credits roll we see over a hundred names and their job titles, but it is the director’s artistic vision, style, grasp of drama and visuals, that can fix that film within critical history. On this course, we will be looking at different styles of filmmaking, and why certain films had such an impact on the audience at the time. Directors we will cover include Jean-Luc Godard, Francis Ford Coppola, Akira Kurosawa, Agnès Varda, Jane Campion and many others.
