The Rude Mechanical Theatre Company, who specialise in iconic outdoor theatre, will be returning to Haslemere this year as part of The Haslemere Fringe Festival, with a brand new play – “Macbyrd” – Set in 1940, in an sleepy village in rural Sussex, Macbyrd is a comedy thriller highlighting the dramatic changes brought about by the threat of German invasion. However, sixteen of the characters are birds, including the pigeon aka Inspector Seed and this hysterical comedy is partly based in the absurdity of the bird’s world. Enjoy a highly entertaining evening set in the beautiful grounds of the Museum with a picturesque look over Black Down. Theatregoers are welcome to bring their own picnics, rugs and low backed chairs from 6.00pm. Tickets are available from Haslemere Hall on 01428 642161 or go to www.haslemerehall.co.uk
