Spend an evening full of horror and laughs at the Nomad Theatre at Bishopsmead Parade, East Horsley and enjoy their production of this cult musical from Monday 24 August to Saturday 29th August at 7.30 pm with a matinee on Saturday 29th at 2.30.
Audrey 11 as you have never seen her before!
Little Shop of Horrors tells the story of meek and nerdy Seymour, an orphan raised on Skid Row, who is given a job by Mr Mushnik, the owner of a flower shop in the seedy part of town. Seymour spends his time doing menial tasks and dreaming of the shop assistant, Audrey. One day, after an eclipse of the sun, Seymour discovers a strange plant. He buys it and names it Audrey II. While caring for Audrey II, Seymour discovers the plant's rather unique appetite. The plant seems to have a craving for blood. Soon enough, Seymour’s life improves and he gains fame and fortune. The plant grows and grows as does Seymour's infatuation with Audrey, but who will get her first? FEED ME!
In a dark and brutal version, with a ‘horrors’ emphasis on this cult classic, the Nomads’ visionary interpretation nonetheless keeps all the humour of the original. Audiences will be lured in with relaxing jokes only to find a megalomaniac plant has turned on them as it tries to take over the world and the theatre!
This production brings together Nathan Farrell director of the highly successful A Few Good Men (Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2014) and The History Boys. Jordan Farrell choreographer of the Noda award winning Jesus Christ Superstar and Adam Blosse, musical director of Nomad productions of Whistle Down the Wind and Fiddler on the Roof.
A youthful and talented cast will bring to life “Little Shop of Horrors”, “Skid Row”, “Somewhere that’s Green” and “Suddenly Seymour”.
