The Lions of Windsor & Maidenhead 2019 public art event features pride of 46 individually decorated, super-sized lion and cub sculptures displayed across the Royal Borough for nearly three months, to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Queen Victoria and raise funds for local charities.
FOLLOW THE PRIDE
The magnificent lion sculptures are sponsored a wide range of businesses and decorated by some of the world's leading artists and designers, including fashion designer Dame Zandra Rhodes, Christian Lacroix/Louis Vuitton designer Craig Wheatley and descendants of French impressionist Camille Pissarro, Lelia and Lyora Pissarro.
A mini-pride of cute lion cubs has been decorated by schools across the region.
The colourful public art event also aims to highlight the plight of lions, which are now more endangered than polar bears, with only 15,000 left in the wild.
Trail maps are available from the Windsor, Eton and Maidenhead Visitor Information Centres, plus lion display locations listed on this page.
The roarsome pride is displayed across the Royal Borough until Sunday 27th October, so pick up a Lion Trail map and enjoy a wild safari as you track down the fabulous felines!
