Trio Literati
Trio Literati
To mark 100 years since the end of World War One, this special event combines readings of War poetry, chosen for their variety and power, forming an emotional bridge between each movement of Faure’s glorious Requiem. Well-known, great poems by Sassoon, Owen, Housman mingle with less familiar, equally soul-catching works by other soldiers such as TE Hulme, Dennis McHarrie, e.e.cummings. The counterpoint of harsh reality and soaring music will offer a deeply moving and memorable experience. Performed by professional soloists and a community choir conducted by Charles MacDougall, with readings by Trio Literati.
