Dante Gabriel Rossetti. Proserpina, 1874. Oil on canvas. 125.10 × 61 cm. Tate Britain, London.
Dante Gabriel Rossetti came from a talented literary and artistic family.
As a founder member of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood in 1848, Rossetti’s skill as an artist would flourish, but poetry would also play an important part in his life. His muses included Elizabeth Siddal, Jane Morris, Fanny Cornforth and Alexa Wilding. In this course, we shall consider how the relationships with his models and his peers contributed to his remarkable oeuvre.
Please note this is a repeat of our popular Autumn 2020 course.
