Liberty Hall, a comedy by Robin Jennifer Miller
In a bid to impress his new American girlfriend Zoe, Tom decides to pass off Ashworth Hall, a delightful country house hotel, as his ancestral home. Zoe's thrilled to be invited. What could possibly go wrong?
Well, Tom's scary ex might turn up... and Zoe's even scarier father... and there's an irate teacher on the loose in the rose garden…Liberty Hall is a sparkling new farce that receives its professional premiere by Rare Fortune Productions at the OSO Arts Centre.

Written by local Twickenham based actress Robin Miller, this play began its life as a reading at the Actors and Writers London. This professional play reading group, that meets in Hammersmith every fortnight, performs rehearsed readings of new plays and the response for Liberty Hall was so positive and laughter-filled that it was immediately decided that it should have a future with a full production.
Some of the comments from the audience at the first reading:
'Haven't laughed so much in yonks. Still bubbling with laughter this morning'
'Hilarious. Suberbly written.'
'A wonderfully entertaining play, such a perfectly constructed farce.'
'Fabulously funny'
'The best comedy I've seen in years.'
'The laughter never stopped'
'An exceptionally funny and well crafted play... an unforgettable evening'
'Full of joie de vivre - just what an audience needs... a genuinely happy, good-hearted evening'
Robin Miller is a published playwright and her murder mystery thriller – Murder on Cue – has been performed up and down the country. She began her career as a professional actress and she has had the opportunity to perform in some of the great farces including Charley’s Aunt and Boeing Boeing. Inspired by these classic plays, she decided to write her own – and the result is Liberty Hall. Robin wanted to write a farce that contained all the classic elements of this much-loved genre:
“I love going to the theatre and I do love to be entertained. We live in tough times and sometimes we need some escapism - hence my fondness for murder mysteries, thrillers, comedies and farces.”
The play is being directed by Maurice Thorogood who after training at RADA has directed plays ranging from David Copperfield at Farnham Rep to Peter Pan starring Cannon and Ball at the Grand Wolverhampton. He directed the rehearsed reading and is also an experienced television director and editor.
This is an excellent opportunity to see a brand new play, developed and performed by professional actors as it receives its world premiere - in Barnes.
