‘OMIGOD YOU GUYS!’ Legally Blonde The Musical is debuting at the
Epsom Playhouse!
HMOS, the company that brought you the feel-good musical comedy ‘Sister
Act’ in 2015, will be returning to the Epsom Playhouse with the hilarious,
international award-winning musical LEGALLY BLONDE, which tackles
stereotypes, snobbery and scandal. Suitable for all ages and guaranteeing
plenty of laughter and an infectious score ... Legally Blonde will have you
singing along to favourite songs such as Omigod You Guys, Serious, Whipped
into Shape and of course Bend And Snap.
The show is being presented by Hinchley Manor Operatic Society whose
President is Michael Aspel. The society was founded in 1949 by a small group
of employees of the Milk Marketing Board in Thames Ditton, Surrey, who had
all been enthusiastic members of the MMB’s Theatrical Group, which was
disbanded early in that year, a victim of that period of post war austerity. Two of
the group’s founders, Peter Tatlow, who later went on to be a professional
theatre critic, and his wife Joyce, went on to form Hinchley Manor Operatic
Society (also known as HMOS) in the same year. The society has gone from
strength to strength over the last 68 years and has produced and performed a
diverse array of shows, from the traditional Gilbert and Sullivan operettas in the
early days, to modern day musical theatre successes such as, We Will Rock You
Annie, Chess, The Sound Of Music and Sister Act. The society also runs a
Summer Workshop for children up to 18 years of age during the third week of
August. They are now in their 12th year and produce a full scale musical which
is performed to family and friends on the Friday and Saturday evenings
This ridiculously enjoyable smash-hit Broadway and West End Musical based
on the Reese Witherspoon film, will take you from the sorority house to the
halls of justice with the beautiful and popular sorority sister Elle Woods. Elle
loves to be pampered and is passionate about pink but when she is dumped by
her boyfriend Warner Huntingdon III for a more ‘serious’ girlfriend, she puts
down the credit cards and picks up the books. Packing up her trusty chihuahua
Bruiser and using her charm, she bags herself a place at the prestigious Harvard
Law School to try and win Warner back. With the support of her new friends,
Paulette and Emmett, Elle realises her potential and learns that you can be both
smart and fashionable.
This all singing, all dancing romantic comedy is a fun-filled, feel-good
pink fest which is so much fun it should be illegal! So, ‘bend
