The 'Last Night of the Proms' comes to Guildford! Join Guildford's professional orchestra Southern Pro Musica, Guildford Choral and conductor Jonathan Willcocks for a joyful evening's entertainment for all the family. As well as Rossini's overture to 'The Barber of Seville' there'll be highlights and choruses from Bizet's 'Carmen' and Verdi's 'Aida', and a jubilant flag-waving finale when the audience can join in with Proms favourites 'Jerusalem', 'Land of Hope and Glory' and 'Rule Britannia'. Be charmed by award-winning mezzo-soprano Kamilla Dunstan and be thrilled by the technical brilliance and 'high voltage virtuosity' of the Russian piano virtuoso Nikolai Demidenko, who will perform Beethoven's 'Emperor' Concerto, Number 5.
This concert, including a raffle and an auction, is promoted by Guildford Lions, supporting Shooting Star Chase, the leading children's hospice charity. It is sure to be an evening for Guildford's concert-goers to remember.
