IMVC/ Band of the Surrey Yeomanry
Reigate is set to have its very own ‘Last Night of the Proms’ concert at the end of September.
Redhill-based Band of the Surrey Yeomanry will join forces with the internationally acclaimed Imperial Male Voice Choir from London to perform a varied musical programme, including a finale of Proms favourites, at Reigate Park Church on Saturday 28th September at 7.00pm.
Michael Withers, Musical Director of the band, says “This is a unique collaboration between two excellent performing groups and several pieces of music have been specially arranged for this joint concert to showcase their respective talents.”
“There will be something for everyone,” promises the choir’s musical director Deborah Miles-Johnson, “with music from Holst, Elgar, Wagner, Weber and Sullivan through to Rodgers and Hammerstein.” Piano soloist Leanne Singh-Levett will perform Gershwin’s beautiful Rhapsody in Blue and the Proms Finale will include favourites such as Land of Hope and Glory, Henry Wood’s famous Fantasia on British Sea Songs and Rule Britannia.
Advance tickets £12 (£6 student) are available online (+ booking fee) at www.ticketsource.co.uk/imvc

A proportion of any surpluses will go to the Tadworth-based charity, The Children’s Trust, and there will also be fundraising at the event.
