May 2019 – For the first time in its history, Kew Gardens is inviting people to explore the Gardens by bike with friends and family. Kew’s Summer Cycle, on Thursday 20 June, will see 1500 people meandering around on two wheels enjoying Kew’s enchanted woodlands, beautiful blooms and summer surprises waiting around every corner.
Kew’s Summer Cycle will be hosted after hours from 7.30pm to 9.30pm (last entry 8.30pm) on Thursday 20 June and tickets will cost £18 for adults, £15 for members, and £4.50 for children with under 4s free. Visit https://www.kew.org/kew-gardens/whats-on/summer-cycle to purchase tickets.
There will be live music for visitors to enjoy whilst they picnic with friends and family on Kew’s breath-taking Syon Vista, which stretches from the Palm House down to the river. Places to visit include the Rose Garden where the evening air will be full of beautiful rose scented fragrance, the magnificent Broad Walk Borders which will be in full bloom, and the Palm House Parterre which will be planted up with a spectacular display of colour for the occasion.
Visitors will also be able to enjoy the Gardens as a contemporary, outdoor gallery space, as Kew’s major exhibition of renowned American sculptor Dale Chihuly continues.
There is no bike hire on the evening so those wishing to join this event are requested to bring their own bikes.
