Fawley Textile by John Piper
Part of our A to Z of Art History Series - next up, join Chelsea Eves who will explore the letter P.
John Piper was one of the most significant British artists of the twentieth century. From his studio home at Fawley Bottom, on the edge of Henley on Thames, he produced work that crossed creative boundaries. Refusing to be defined by a style or artistic movement, Piper constantly experimented, collaborated and explored new ways of working. Better known as a Neo-Romantic artist, Piper was also one of Britain’s leading abstract painters and a dedicated modernist. This lecture explores Piper’s life and career, reflecting the extraordinary range of his work.
