West Horsley Place
Hosting Henry VIII at West Horsley Place
Step back to the summer of 1533 as West Horsley Place transforms into a vibrant Tudor court for Hosting Henry VIII, an immersive living history festival inspired by the real royal visit of King Henry VIII to the estate.
Based on surviving records from the four-day visit hosted by Henry and Gertrude Courtenay – including the original banquet menu – the festival offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience Tudor life where it happened.
Meet historical figures including Henry VIII, Anne Boleyn, Thomas Cromwell and the Courtenays, and enjoy a packed programme of jousting, falconry, theatre, music, dancing and Tudor-inspired food. Throughout the weekend, the historic estate will come alive with costumed performers, demonstrations and interactive experiences celebrating one of the most fascinating periods in English history.
Early bird tickets are available from £20 for adults and £10 for children. Proceeds support the ongoing conservation of West Horsley Place.
