Step back in time at Garsons on Sunday 21st August as the annual Heavy Horses display once again takes to the farm fields. Demonstrating farming methods used before tractors and mechanisation, the heavy horses will give visitors a taste of what farming was like when the Thompson family first came to West End in 1871.
The magnificent shire horses, standing an average of 17 hands high, will plough the pick-your-own fields and prepare the ground in the time-honoured way, keeping this wonderful tradition alive. Get up close to these gentle giants and find out all you ever wanted to know about working horses and these heritage farming methods.
11am to 4pm on Sunday 21st August at Garsons, Winterdown Road, Esher.
