Hambledon Cricket Club welcomes new members

The Junior section of Hambledon Cricket Club are delighted to announce the arrival of Ingram Jones. Ingram is an experienced ECB Level 2 coach and cricket development officer who brings with him an impressive track record on and off the cricket field. Jones’ successes include becoming a national community champion in 2010/2011 where his academy work was highlighted on SKY TV's Community Channel in a documentary showing how his club coaching created pathways for young people to transition from schools cricket straight into club cricket - many of those players going on to represent at district cricket and then county cricket. Jones has also had the opportunity to work as assistant coach at national level in the Caribbean with Grenada which hails players such as Devon Smith, Andre Fletcher and his cousin fast bowler Nelon Pascal. Alexander Wood, who heads up the Junior Section at Hambledon is already impressed. “Ingram’s passion and energy have been ever present from the off. He’s engaged well with the children and is bringing new structures and thinking to the club training sessions that have added real value. In addition he is very keen on developing a Hambledon girls cricket team, something very much in line with what is being seen on the county circuit far and wide. We are looking forward to a long and successful partnership with him!”. Ingram adds; "Hambledon is a friendly and welcoming cricket club, blessed with fantastic surroundings. My aim is to help the junior section continue to flourish and create players for the future in a supportive and all-inclusive environment. I'm delighted to be a part of this club and would love to welcome new players and parents alike”. Notes to Editors: Hambledon Cricket Club runs coaching sessions on Saturday morning’s from 10-12 and has teams entered in to the Berkeley Sports Two Counties Cricket League.
