Come and enjoy a fun evening with Guildford Opera at the Electric Theatre in May when we present our comic opera double bill, Bizet's Djamileh and von Weber's Abu Hassan.
The productions are fully staged and presented in English, with the Guildford Opera chorus and a superb cast of soloists, including Alexia Mankovskaya and Jack Tebbutt, so memorable in last year’s critically-acclaimed show, Bellini’s Capulets and Montagues, and Laura Cheetham and Derek S Henderson, who shone in our award-winning production of La Bohème in 2014.
For those who would like to learn more about these operas and how Bizet and Weber came to compose them, our Music and Stage Directors, Lewis Gaston and Kevin John will be giving a free pre-show talk on Thursday 5 May at 6.30pm.
Whichever evening you come, we can assure you of a warm welcome at the Electric Theatre and the prospect of a spring outing that’s guaranteed to leave you with a smile on your face and a ‘spring’ in your step!
