Great Diaries – The World’s Most Remarkable Diaries, Journals, Notebooks and Letters
Oscar Wilde wrote ‘Memory… is the diary that we all carry about with us’. Together we examine the writings and illustrations from the Roman world to the present day. Leonardo Da Vinci’s jottings; Margery Kempe’s autobiography; Marie Curie’s radioactive notebooks; Darwin’s field notes; Siegfried Sassoon’s pocket book; Frida Kahlo’s diaries and sketches. Our studies will give us access to the astonishing and everyday experiences of the past.
