Martin Turner Plays The Music of Wishbone Ash--The Warriors Return
At Grayshott Village Hall, Headley Road, GRAYSHOTT, Nr.Hindhead, Surrey GU26 6TZ
As a long-term fan of Wishbone Ash I was delighted when MTWA agreed to come and play for us at Grayshott Village Hall last February. The band had a blast, the sell-out audience loved what they heard and we have established a mutual admiration society. If you came along last year, I hope you will come again. If you missed out, be sure to book your tickets early.
Martin Turner was a founder-member of Wishbone Ash in the 70s and as songwriter, Bass player and lead vocalist, he was central to their huge success. Make no mistake, this is no tribute band. Instead, Martin Turner has surrounded himself with some top-notch musicians. Danny Willson and Ray Hatfield reproduce the authentic Wishbone Ash twin guitar sound and capture the vitality of their live performances, whilst drummer Tim Brown keeps the beat subtly but persuasively.
If like me, you spent hours and hours listening to the ground-breaking “Argus” album or loved “There’s the Rub”, then this one is for you. Alternatively, you might have preferred “Pilgrimage” the eponymous “Wishbone Ash” or perhaps “Wishbone 4” was your favourite album?
It matters not. Tonight we will once more be transported back to our youthful days in an instant as Grayshott Village Hall rocks to the sound of one of the top-selling Rock bands from the 1970s.
