Mrs Reese and her cast of ladies (plus Gordon) have an ambitious evening’s entertainment planned with a quiz, a film and a fashion show to present along with the riveting whodunnit, “Murder at Checkmate Manor”.
Goodness me all this for £12! What can go wrong? Well if you know theatre – quite a lot.
Every drama group knows the horrors of what can happen on opening night, (or any night really) and the ladies of Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen’s Guild Dramatic Society experience more than most. The scenery collapses, props have a mind and a trajectory of their own. Actors, sound and lighting effects are more often ‘off script’ than on it.
What about the plot then, who is the murderer………..?
Well never mind about that. Sit back and enjoy a hysterically funny attempt to put on a serious murder mystery against all odds.
