Family Classics - classical music fun for all the family
Here's a wonderful opportunity for the whole family to experience the excitement of live classical music at G Live, Guildford. From 1pm professional Southern Pro Musica players will lead free workshops, where everyone young and old will be able to have a go on all sorts of percussion and orchestral instruments. Then at 3pm there'll be an hour-long family concert, featuring a varied programme of brilliant, accessible music, performed by the full orchestra under the baton of Jonathan Willcocks.
There'll be masterpieces such as Handel’s 'Arrival of the Queen of Sheba'; Elmer Bernstein’s film score 'The Magnificent Seven'; and Ronan Hardiman’s foot-tapping 'Lord of the Dance' and much more. There’ll also be a narrated musical version of Rudyard Kipling’s classic tale 'How the Whale got his Throat' and as usual the opportunity to take part in the fun with a song for the whole audience.
Tickets: £14 adults, FREE for under 18s.
