event details
Guildford Opera return to the stage this autumn with their production of Tchaikovsky’s best-known opera, Eugine Onegin. When Onegin arrives at her family’s country estate, bookish teenager Tatyana is impressed by his air of sophistication. Impulsively, she pours her heart out to him in a letter, triggering a life-changing series of events. Years later, they meet again in St. Petersburg, and are confronted with a devastating moment of truth. In a timeless story of innocence and experience, Tchaikovsky’s haunting score captures every shade of emotion.
Performances start at 7.30 on Wed Nov 30th and Friday Dec 2 and at 6.30pm on Sat Dec 3.
