This should be something to really look forward to – one of Willy Russell’s best plays, starring the very wonderful Stephen Tompkinson. Although the role was immortalised by Michael Caine, I can think of no better actor to fill the shoes of the disillusioned professor captivated by the rough-and-ready Rita – her brassiness matched only by her brains. Get this in the diary and put the box office on speed dial!
