The Lightbox Literary Festival 2018
Dialogue is a powerful tool in fiction. When and how much should you use it? And how do you give an authentic voice to your character? In this workshop we’ll be exploring how to write powerful, realistic dialogue that reveals character, creates narrative drive and enriches the scene.
This session is part of creative writing course by Melanie Whipman, writer, editor and teacher, specialising in the short story form. Her work has been broadcast on Radio 4 and published in numerous literary and commercial magazines. Melanie’s debut short story collection, ‘Llama Sutra’ published in 2016, was the winner of the Rubery International Book Award short story category in 2017.
