A notable event this month is the final concert promoted by “Cornflower Presents”. Several Cornflower concerts, which specialise in period performance, have been generously arranged by Michèle Kohler over the years, with the entire proceeds always going to charity, but Michèle has decided this is to be her final concert. Many of the concerts have featured members of the distinguished Kuijken family of Belgian musicians. At this concert, Sigiswald Kuijken will perform solo music by Bach, playing a suite for cello and the second partita for violin. He will also be joined by violist Marleen Thiers to play duets by Thomas Morley and music by Gossec. There will be a glass of wine in the interval, and tickets for children and students are only £1!
- June 24 at 7.30pm, £18; For tickets please contact cornflwr@cornflwr.demon.co.uk.
