Join Dr Marisa Linton for a time-travelling hop across the channel to France. In this illustrated lecture, she will be talking about four leaders of the French Revolution: Maximilien Robespierre, Georges Danton, Camille Desmoulins and Louis-Antoine Saint-Just. All four were part of the radical Jacobin group, and met a sticky end under the guillotine's blade.
Marisa will explore their roles in the Revolution, looking at what motivated them to become revolutionaries, and asking what led these men, who started as humanitarian idealists, to become supporters of terror.
