Caterham Valley Christmas Elves Takeover
Mischievous elves are heading for Caterham Valley this Christmas
The Caterham Valley elves are once again getting ready to take over the town to bring some festive magic in the run up to Christmas.
For four weeks from Saturday, November 24, the impish little creatures will be hiding in shops and businesses around Caterham Valley waiting to be discovered by elf detectives.
Children can track down all 20 hand-crafted elves by answering clues which will pinpoint their hidey-holes in various locations throughout the town.
Last year, the Caterham Valley Christmas Elves Takeover drew hundreds of families into Caterham with local businesses inundated with little elf hunters eagerly ticking off their trail sheets.
Organised by the Caterham BID (known as Caterham Valley For You), the free family fun continues right through the festive season until Saturday, December 22, and families can go in search of the cheeky elves any time during shop and business opening hours.
“This is a magical way for families to get to know their town and it adds a fun element to festive shopping,” says Andrew Browne, chairman of Caterham Valley For You. “We had amazing feedback last year from both the businesses and the families taking part. It was wonderful to see youngsters walking around the town clutching their trail sheets looking for clues.”
“Elf-hunters are also actively encouraged to enter into the playful spirit of proceedings and share their Caterham `elfies’ on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook, where the best photos will be shared.”
The free trail sheets will be distributed at various pick-up points around the town (see www.caterhamvalley.co.uk) ready for elf-hunters to start their adventure, and there is the chance to win a prize voucher for those who are successful.
