Black History Month Elmbridge is about celebrating diversity in Elmbridge through African Music, Crafts and food.
Event Structure :The event is split into two parts
Part one - Free Workshops
African drums- participants will be introduced to African drums, their role in traditional African life and be instructed in African drumming
African Dance- this is your chance to participate in and learn Bakisimba. Bakisimba is a High Energy royal dance from Uganda. It is performed at various occasions with exciting melody and rhythms.
This part of the event is free to attend as a spectator or participant. However, if you would like to get a space on one of the workshops please ensure that you register your interest by booking a ticket
Part Two: Fundraising dinner and dance
There is an entry fee for this part of the event. Proceeds will go towards the Skills Development Initiative for young people in Ruhanga SW Uganda.
An evening performance of African music and dance by Sarah Ndagire a Ugandan Singer and Song Writer accompanied by the Galaxy Band.
