Ang Lee
Still from Sense and Sensibility (1995)
In Sense and Sensibility, the heroines’ creative abilities characterise them; Marianne plays the piano with passion, while Elinor quietly enjoys drawing. This course will examine the multiple functions of music, drawing and dance in the novel. In these classes, we will discuss and explore how the arts shape this famous novel. Keen readers are welcome and this course assumes no former study. However, please ensure you have access to a copy of the novel and that you have read it before the beginning of the course.
