During this series of art talks, speakers Melanie Paice and Peter Scott will explore the meaning behind art and national identity. Melanie is an artist, art tutor and lecturer. Peter Scott has been a guide and lecturer at Tate Britain and Tate Modern for 15 years.
Russian avant-garde and the Revolution saw pioneering forms of artistic expression. A group of radical young artists, known as the Wanderers, started a revolt against the art establishment in the 1870s. Committed to bringing art to the people, they paved the way for the further radical movements that followed.
